We also have free dump sites where I live. 2 of the 5 gas stations within 2 to 4 miles of my house have free dumping, I don't know about the other 3 because they just aren't ones I ever stop by. I have an A-frame with a built-in cassette toilet so it's easier to deal with than an actual tank though. I often just dump it in the house toilet if it's had light use (we discourage #2 when at all possible) or I take it to the gas station where all I have to do is go inside and ask the always happy to help clerk unlock the water, with a reminder to please lock it back up before I leave. And there have been plenty of times where it's sat a week or so before I've got around to taking care of it. I've realized it's actually easier to dump when I get home because everything gets mixed up and broken down while on the drive. I don't dump "fresh" at the campground anymore unless we're staying longer than the cassette can handle.
