New shocks
My wife and I are "newbies" to the RV life. We have had our Coachmen Freedom Express 192 RBS for about one month now. Our tow vehicle is a 2010 F-150 Lariat Supercrew 4x4. My shocks have 105k and I'm looking to replace them. I'm curious if anyone out there has any suggestions. Our TT isn't a monster so I don't think that I'm in need of "monster" shocks. Would OEM shocks be ok? Looking forward to hearing your replies.

If your truck is rated for the weight of the trailer then you should be able to use OEM parts.

Get some Bilstein 5100's for the rear. Easy and inexpensive DIY upgrade

I liked the Bilstein shocks also that was my initial choice. Talked to ford tech at SD Truck Springs he recommended the Rough Country. OEM is ok but these are built much heavier and more specific for use. Since you need to upgrade it is worth it.

On the Ford truck forums, Bilstein (4600s for unlifted truck and 5100s for a lifted truck) and Fox 2.0 shocks are among the most popular.

The op has a 4x4 and if he choose the Bilsteins he needs the 5100's.

Not according to their website and online retailers. 4x4 has nothing to do with it. The 4600 model is only for stock height trucks and the 5100 can be use for both stock height and lifted trucks.

Thanks for the input.... I guess I should have posted a few specs so that those wishing to reply could have an idea of what I'm working with. According to the 2010 F-150 spec sheet, i'm well within my towing capacity. My F-150 has a maximum towing capacity 9,600 lbs and the TT is 5900 GVWR (3,850 UW).

Guess your missing the point. The OE shocks are garbage and the Bilsteins are a superior product. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the difference.

Same with 4x4 GM / Chevy Trucks. Bilstein 4600's for stock and 5100's for stock / lifted. My project this past weekend, replaced all 4. 165k miles, I guess it was time. Rides like a new one!
BIL has 2014 F150 4x4, he replaced his rears with Bilstein Air Shocks. He's very happy with them.

I went with the 5100's for my stock height. About 7 dollars more each but I leave the option open for a lift. Plus the yellow and blue on the 4600's was a showstopper for me.

Ahhhhh, totally agree! That Yellow and Blue combo does "command attention". Especially with my truck being a Marine Blue Metallic! So PURDY.....

F 250, 5100 all around and steering stabilizer at 140000 on the 06, 6.0 it was time and they help smooth things out abit.
