Outside plug cover fell off

I'm hoping someone can help me. My outside outlet cover popped off when I lifted it open today, and a piece of metal came out also. I can get the cover back on, but then it'll fall off if touched.

I'm new to the forum and don't know how to upload a picture to show the metal piece that fell out. Maybe I got it uploaded

I have a 2019 Forest River Salem FSX

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Same thing happened to my Windjammer. I went to lowes and purchased a outside outlet cover. Its waterproof and clear, actually looks better than what came on the trailer. The mounting screw holes matched up perfect, no need to remove the outlet itself.

If it's a 2019, it should be under warranty?? Get the dealer to fix it. I think a long term fix may be what Chuck did, since you know what you have, and know it is done right.

Standard weatherproof receptacle cover, available at retail stores, RV parts vendors, RV dealers, etc. for about $10 or less. Not worth a trip to the dealer.

The metal is the spring tensioner to hold it open/closed.
