Outside winter storage, use RV cover?

I'm contemplating buying an RV cover for this winter. I bought a new camper and never year I'm likely going to do a rv car port, but this year it's going to get winterized and be left outside on my property.

Are there negative aspects to using a cover, I see them on Amazon for around $400 and thought that it may be better than letting the sun, rain and snow work on the camper roof and paint for 6 or 7 months up here in Western PA.

I'm not a over of covers. Good ones are expensive, cheap ones don't last, large ones are a PTA to handle, they scratch paint if everything isn't clean, rodents like to live under them, and they are tough on paint in windy conditions. Having said that, they have thier place.

RV's are not the greatest weather proof things in the world. And leaks can lead to serious water damage. So...

In your case of getting a carport in a year, maybe a lower cost cover makes sense. Or maybe better yet renting an inside space.
