PC To TV

I have a Gateway LT20 Netbook NOT A Notebook a Netbook is smaller, has only a 10 inch screen, but I would like to connect it up to my 32 inch LCD TV
I'm running windows XP and when I do connect the tv the picture is streched out and I don't know how to make it fit properly on the tv screen.
As many of you can tell from my previous posts I,m not to computer or tech savy.
I do know how to trun them on and google and buy stuff. The last one is bad all by itself, oh well back to my question can anyone tell me for sure how to connect this, in the right way.

Thanks
Joe

Some TV's have an option in the "settings" that will allow you to change the aspect ratio. In other words, it will let you change the width to height ratio to make a picture have the right dimensions. I have my Dell netbook connected to my TV and have to change it when I do that.

Unless you have "some" tech or computer skills; put this one into the "too hard to explain" pile.

Screen resolution is your problem and unless your TV has a PC input on it you will be very unhappy with the results. Simply put, your LCD display in pixels must match your PC's screen output in pixels.

Terry thanks for your answer I'll try that and see what happens.
Lou I think I understand your point, if I have a 72o or a 1080 both have to match. Thanks to both of you for your time and answers.
I'll wait 2 or3 days to see what if any other answers I may get before I try anything, I already had to dowload new drivers to straighten my computer once, I'll wait before I have to do that again.
I'm just glad to have so many smart people out there to ask.
Joe

Again, everything depends on how the signal is getting to the TV.

Are you using the 15 pin RGB input on the TV and the 15 pin RGB Monitor output on the netbook (if it has one)?
It looks like the blue monitor plug on a desktop computer?

If yes, we can go from there.

I show you have VGA out on your computer, The best bet would to connect VGA from computer to tv. The problem is getting the sound to the tv too. I would say it's almost next to impossible or too expensive. You would be better getting a laptop with HDMI out.

Not at all Scubie. Get a male mini stereo to left and right RCA cable (if your TV will take that) or male mini to male mini (it you need one of those).

Plug the cable into the earphone port and right into the audio input on the TV. When you select the RGB on the TV you will get computer stereo as well.
