Problems charging portable electronics?
We have a 2013 28bh patriot edition travel trailer. I am unable to charge portable devices. Any ideas. I have tried multiple cords and chargers.

What Dan said - we need more information. Are you on shore power? Do any other 110V appliances work?

I am plugging into any receptacle inside. Other appliances work ie coffee maker, fan and weather radio. My camper is plugged into 30 amp service.

So, you are plugging into your 110 volt outlets? Beats me what's wrong

If you plug a light or fan into the same outlet do they work?
GFCI tripped?
Reset ALL of the circuit breakers on you panel and then test and reset the GFCI's.

You probably do not have a pure sine converter.

^^Finally an answer^^
This has to be it I will have to check it out next chance I get. That would make sense. I did charge my phone plugged into the dc outlet by my tv and it charged fine but all other 110 outlets will not charge my iphone or samsung tablet. I thought that it was a signal issue so I bought a signal booster which only helped with my wireless signal. Thanks

So is your rig plugged in to power so that your 110 volt outlets will work?

I thought that only applied to inverters, not convertors. If he is plugged into shore power, the convertor should just pass the AC voltage. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Jerry.

Let me see if I'm following correct. You said you were able to charge using a DC outlet, which I am assuming is a USB outlet. If this is correct, then you must be using a usb cord.
I am also assuming that if you are using the 120 volt outlets, then you must also be using the usb cord plugged into a 120 volt adapter.
If this is also correct, are you using this same 120 volt adapter on all the electronics.....and could that one part be the problem?

You are absolutely correct. I apologize for indicating converter when I most certainly meant inverter.

Something isn't adding up if he's plugged in to the power pole, since yes, that power just gets passed along to the outlets.

I'd check the power with a multimeter @ the outlet just to see what it is.

We've had erratic success with charging some of our electronic devices as well when connected to shore power. Adapters that would normally work at home don't work in the travel trailer. I assume the adapters are just overly sensitive to the current they're receiving and won't pass it on to the devices. That said we do have one go to adapter that came with our Blackberry Playbook that works for all 5 of our devices (2 Blackberry, 1 Samsung, 1 HTC and 1 ASUS). Makes for some charger scheduling issues but for the most part we can work around them.

It isn't a problem with current, current is pulled by each device. Voltage is pushed.
Is it on all outlets or just 1 or 2? Have you tried your chargers directly plugged into the power pole outside?
I'm taking a stab in the dark, but I wonder if your camper has a modified sine wave inverter that is permanently attached to the outlets you have a problem with, and it has very dirty output. So even when plugged into the power pole it is feeding something to those outlets that the chargers just can't handle (and the inverter is running from the 12 volt feed from the converter). It isn't unheard-of to have this setup in a camper so you don't have to add a transfer switch.

Oddly enough, my iPhone will not charge from the usb/12v station. Have to grab an adapter to work correctly.
