Propane Changeover Valve Question
The instructions that came w/ my Rockwood aren't the clearest. Does the indicator gradually switch from black to red during use? Or does it switch from black to red when the bottle empties.
The bottle that is open in the attached pic is in the bottom half of its usage.

Propane indicator gague.
On my home propane tank the color RED means empty. I don't know if that is universal color code but I would imagine so. As long as you have one full tank you can watch and see what happens on your indicator and switch when it's empty, noting the color. I installed a numbered gauge on the rigs propane's tank making it much easier to determine how much gas remains in the tank.

The regulator is a Camco brand.
It will change from black to red when the tank is empty(the one the level is pointing toward).
When that tank is empty, it will automatically switch to the full tank. Prior to removing the empty tank, manually turn the lever to the full tank. Then, remove the empty tank for refilling.
Camco valve description:
Regulator maintains constant gas pressure and automatically changes from empty tank to full one. Allows removal of empty cylinder for refill without interrupting propane supply. For RVs with dual propane tank hookup.

Thanks guys. I've been watching the gauge because after my 2nd trip (8 days of use on tank) the indicator looked pinkish. I took the tank to get filled & the bottle took very little to fill up.
I guess the red was reflecting on the inside of the window.

Tracker, yes, you are correct. I just wanted to run the bottle on the left empty.

The indicator does not change gradually, so it does not give you any advance warning. To see what it looks like, cut off the both tanks, then have someone light the stove inside to relieve the pressure on the lines, and you will see it turn to read.
