thanks for being here. Bill Tremont
PS have been on road 2.5 months prior to this occurrance
BACK AGAIN. SOLVED PROBLEM. FUSE PANEL WAY UNDER DASH DRIVER AND HIGH IN LEFT CORNER. STUPID AREA. HAD MY SON (I HAD PROBLEM GETTING NEAR IT TO SEE PROPERLY) CHECK RADIO FUSE. IT'S OK BUT ONE NEXT TO IT LABELED "BUILDER ACCESSORIES WAS OUT". NOW HAD RADIO BUT ON/OFF BUTTON WOULD NOT TURN IT OFF EXCEPT IF I PUT "RADIO" SWITCH ON CONSOLE TO OFF. IT'S MOUNTED UPSIDE DOWN, SO BOTTOM IS ON AND TOP PUSHED IN IS OFF.
AFTER MUCH FUSSING AND CHECKING THE FUSE AT RADIO, I REALIZED I WAS ON SHORE POWER AND THE COACH INPUT TO RADIO WAS BEING FED THRU THE CONVERTOR. I REALIZED THIS WHEN I PUSHED THE DISCONNECT SWITHCH BY DOOR. THE RELAY WOULD OPEN BUT SWITCH REMAINED ILLUMINATED BY THE SHORE POWER. DISCONNECT POWER AND VOILA ALL WAS NORMAL.
I HAVE ASSOC. EE FROM USN 1958 AND WORKED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS YEARS AGO, BUT NEVER QUESSED THIS ONE UNTIL I STARTED TO APPLY MY TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS TO ELIMINATE ITEMS.
I BELIEVE HAVINHG THE RADIO ON LINE THAT IS FIR ACCESSORIES IS A WIRING ERROR..WE. LOST RADIO, CIGAR OUTLETS AND MAPLIGHTS.
