Recall On Toyota

I hope no one is towing with one of the trucks that's on the recall list from Toyota. I could only imagine the reaction while towing a camper and something went wrong with the accelerator.

1st thing to remember! PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, the engine will rev higher but you won't go anywhere. Apply the brakes to slow down and pull to the shoulder of the road. Then turn it off. Easier said then done when your heart is somewhere near your ears but this is the safest procedure to follow. I hope no one has to use it but in case you do, try not to panic.

Heard the other day that the part in question was used on some Ford vehicles too not just Toyota. Also Toyota makes other vehicles like the Pontiac Vibe which may also be effected.

The good thing is that even with all that horsepower that the Tundras have if your towing a 5000+ lbs trailer It's not going to accelerate all that fast. The real trouble would be after you've dropped the trailer.
