Refrigerator question

Our Dometic refrigerator is giving us some trouble, hoping someone can help us.
On shore power, the lights are on, but no cooling. Without shore power, it's running on gas and cooling. Any suggestions of where to look?

I was just troubleshooting ours. Unhook ALL power. Remove cover from circuit board on outside. Heating element should be 43-45 ohms(+/-) if not it's bad. If good, reconnect power and look for 110 AC at same contact points. If no power board is bad. Not able to post pic now but search for pics. Depending on age board may still be labeled well

As FullRoo eluded to, it's most likely the element.

Can you give us the model of your fridge and we may be able to tell you if there's anything else likely?

Thanks for the suggestion. It's keeping cool with the gas on, so after our trip we'll do some more troubleshooting. Just hope it continues to work using gas.

You probably have already checked this, but do you have 120 volts at the plug outlet the Refer plugs into? you can access that outlet from the service panel on the outside wall of the rig behind the refer. The Refer is designed to operate on propane without anything other than 12 volt battery power, so it can fool you in this situation.
