Replacement wheels for 5th wheel

I am looking to upgrade my wheels and tires on my 2004 FR Flagstaff 5th wheel. It has 5 lug wheels currently rated to 50psi load range C tires. I want to stay at 5 lug wheels so I do not have to upgrade my hubs.

I contacted Discount tire and they stated that they do not sell wheels for travel trailers but they could offer me tires.

Can anyone advise where I might find wheels for my 5th wheel? I was hoping to go to a load range D or E 15 inch 5 lug.

I do not have a 5th wheel but, I up graded my tires on my TT form ST205/75 R15 rated load range "C" @ 55 psi max to ST235/75R15 @ 65 psi max rated load range "D" and did not have to change the rims.

My current rims are only rated to 50psi max. I would need a rim that was rated to 65psi for a D load tire.

Really! be for I had them installed I check with the shop I deal with for the last 30 years or so and they said there is no problem using the same rims. I have a new Chevy truck that came with "C" rated tires @ 35psi and the chevy dealer suggested to change them to "E" rated tires @ 80psi for towing, so I ask can I use the same rims and they said yes, there would be no problem and I have a 6 lug wheel. I am going to have to check with them again before I change them.

I thought the same but on another forum I read about the wheel rating. I found my rating stamped on the inside of the wheel. A 50psi wheel will only support a load range C tire. A D tire requires a 65psi wheel and an E rated an 80psi wheel.

There is a very good chance that the Chevy wheel can handle an 80psi tire. It would make sense to stock one wheel that would cover both the 1500 and 2500 series trucks. Also from what I have seen looking at wheels most 6 lug wheels are 65 or 80 psi rated. They are also usally 16inch wheels. My old 1500 and my 2500 were both 6 lug 16 inch wheels.

Funny that you mention 16" mine are 17" and they are aluminum not steel wheels.

The factory supplied aluminum rims on current Rockwood's are Series 06 15 x 5.
