Replacing LED light strips
Our 274DBH has the LED light strip under the awning and inside over the slide out. I understand FR desire to provide unique accent lighting but I'm dealing with an ultra-bright, florescent, cornea burning light.
Has anyone replaced their LED light strip with an aftermarket adjustable one? I know they make them color changing and dimmable now and think that would be a much better option than simply not using what I currently have.
I haven't climbed up to see how they're wired in to the camper yet, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any experience replacing these?
Thanks,
Craig

Depends on which supplier's awning you have. Latest generation of Solera awnings from Lippert with the LED wall washer look like a beast to remove! Good news, you can just simply buy a dimming module and tone them down! Our Heritage Glen came with the wall-washers - super bright as you colorfully describe - and I actually permanently dimmed the strip with a resistor. I also installed a mult-color strip in the awning channel that DW can program to whatever color and intensity she desires, but that's a bigger project unless you don't mine plugging them in each deployment. To me, that defeated the purpose of a power awning so I actually used a slip ring to deal with the electrical.

I purchased a simple remote dimmer unit and wired it into the leads coming from the awning light switch behind the control center panel and tucked it in behind the wall, it is one of those credit card remotes and works thru the wall as it is a RF remote. $5 delivered and 5 minutes worth of work.
Looks just like this.

That's perfect!!!! Thank you!
Hopefully the color is less violent when they're dimmed down.

Yep, worked like a charm. Mine was as bright as the afternoon sun as well... Now I can adjust it from full sun down to "mood lighting"
Really needed it on my unit as there are no door side exterior lights on it other than the awning LED strip.

More ideas everyday, and we just had another 8" of snow to sweep off the roof. Spring should be a blast if I have enough funds to do all these great things you'all chat about.
thanks!

Wonder if these are all on the same frequency?
I have two awnings with LED light steps and I'd like to be able to dim them both.
Guess if they just responded the same together that would work.

The ones I purchased are, I purchased 2 extra receivers and they control the LEDs on my front cap and my steps as well.

So you bought one of these, then bought a couple more of these and the transmitter dims all three sets of LED's at the same time?
Thanks very much for the info, is this the seller you purchased from?

My trailer didn't come with any led accent lights, I saw some new trailers at a show with them and wanted them. Found them on Amazon and put them in myself. Inside over the slide and under the inside edge of the awning . The ones over the awning I needed a power supply( no 12v available this spot), the outside ones I drilled a hole through the wall into a cabinet and the cabinet had a 12v light to draw power. Both have a dimmer switch to adjust the lights. I stayed with the single color (blue) but started out with a dimmer that also made the lights flash and other tricks, got rid of that to annoying.

I did ask the seller from the original link if they sold extra dimmers only and if the remote would control all dimmers. They said they would not, that the remote was paired to the dimmer and they all use a different frequency. Answer didn't sound right to me.

If that's true it makes you wonder what good buying a 2nd receiver would be then doesn't it?

The ones from your first link are the ones I have, the ones in your second link are just an inline switch, not a remote receiver.
I bought this 5X 12V Mini Controller Inline Dimmer with RF Wireless Remote for LED Strip Light | eBay
I thought they would be on separate freqs but once wired in I found that one remote worked on all 3. In my instructions it says "1 to 1 paired" but apparently that means something different to the Chinese...

Thanks again for the info, I'll get two of the first one and have a spare transmitter.
