Rockwood 1904 Manual Lift Crank Location

Hi all --

We're new to the Forest River/Rockwood community but longtime campers. We recently purchased a 2010 Rockwood 1904 with a power lift system. I know there is a manual override location somewhere, but can't find it. I'd like to know how to get at it before i have to use in the dark in the middle of the woods...

Google has let me down, and it's not indicated in the user manual. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanks!

The trailer should have come with a crank handle, like the one for the stabilizer jacks but with a hex head. If you open the top inspection port on the winch you will see a bolt. Hit the power for the winch and it will spin. The crank is to turn this bolt manually. Fair warning: (1) the crank that my trailer came with was the wrong size (2) you should budget about 1/2 hr to crank it up as the gearing makes the override useless. I bought a new 1910 in 2006 and suggest that you start budgeting a couple hundred bucks a year for repairs. Good Luck.

Thanks @tlmg. I found the inspection port on the winch cover... under the battery box, which i had to take off in order to pull the plug on the inspection port. What a pain!

Looks like the crank handle's hex head is the right size, though. I might invest in a power drill to store in the front trunk just in case. Might also move the battery box to a less intrusive location, but i'll save that project for another day.

Thanks for the tip!
Joe
