Roof crack

I recently noticed a very fine line (crack) running across my roof. I took my rv to the dealer, who contacted Forest River. While not common, evidently sometimes these cracks appear where roof seams are. My rv is just one year old. Factory this is consider a maintenane item and the roof should be resealed (cost: $600) , the dealer said the factory would pay half.

Upon inspection of the reseal I saw a strip of sealer/caulk ran over the crack, in addition there were 6 other strips at various locations on the roof, I did notice any cracks there,

Has anyone experienced this? I don't agree this is a normal/routine maintenance problem and plan to contact the factory.

Do you have photos of the crack before and after the repairs, are you saying the crack was repaired simply by caulking $600?

Who is the dealer?

we had our entire roof resealed/conditioned/and cleaned for about 300.00. 29foot TT and they charged 10/foot. 600 sounds way high for about 10 tubes of caulking IMO.

What type of roof do you have. If it is a one year old trailer you surely have a rubber roof or a alpha vinyl roof. This material is quite flexible and I dont understand that it has cracked.

Until I visited the factory earlier this year I assumed the same thing. They were installing one piece fiberglass covered labinated panel roofs on the class C motorhomes. They had a pebbled finish.

I would not be too happy if the fix for breaks in a "rubber" roof involved caulking on the surface. I always thought that a rubber membrane needed to be mechanically restrained around the edges. How did they restrain the edges of the cracks. Hopefully, they did more than covering the cracks with goop.
