RVQ on a Rockwood

I have an RVQ grill that came with my 2004 8272S. The problem is this....it never gets very hot. It takes forever to cook anything on it. It has the quick connect on the side of the camper, and is very convenient. It works so poorly, that I abandoned it in the loft of my garage for 2 years, until recently when I got tired of loading my old modified gas grill. For the biggest part, I cook over an open fire, but there are times when it is nice to just be able to turn on the grill. It almost seems as if the LP gas is regulated to the point that even the slightest breeze will blow out the burner. And, when you adjust the burner Hi,Med,Lo, it has almost no effect on the flame. My Brother has a new Rockwood, and it came with the newer style of the RVQ, and that baby cooks. Any Ideas?

I have a 2005 Rockwood Roo 21SS with the outside grill. Mine cook really good. We have used it every time we have been camping. I have no complaints.

I usually find that bugs build a nest in the gas orifce just before the burner. It acts as a restriction. You might just need to diassemble and clean it.
Or if it has a remote regulator that could be bad.
