Salem Hemisphere down

TLDR: Frame twisted on a trailer I have maybe owned for 3 months with no repair date in sight. What to do?

Wow! Where do I start...

Purchased a 2014 312QBUD from Funtown RV in Waco on February 11, 2015

Here is how day 0 went.
Expectation for Dealer Service
The big item being the hole in the fiberglass from a slide screw which was repaired but another part was back ordered from FR.

We finally got a schedule to repair all the punch list items. Mid March I picked up the trailer to use on a March 20-22 weekend shakedown trip. I picked it up on the condition that they would notify me when last item, a bathroom countertop, would come in to make arrangements for them to pick the trailer up from me, repair the counter and return to me. If we did not take the trailer that day we would just terminate the deal.

Used the trailer over a rainy but enjoyable 3 day weekend trip a Jelly stone Kid friendly RV park. We has some issues and compile a list of issue.

On March 23, I called and sent a punch list of pile of new items. The big one, the frame has a significant twist. Over measuring 3/8" per ft which would translate cross 8' to 3in and extended to 34ft, way more. This was noticed when I could not get it level in site front middle to back. And replicated on a hard flat surface with and w/o stabs.

After playing phone tag for several days and tired of having it sit in front of my house, I took the trailer to the dealer on 4/21/15.

Followed up that same week to confirm with Service Coordinator who had stopped calling me that she got it. However she was not aware they had the trailer. She indicated that she would work with the Service Writers and call me back. Never got a call so I followed up with my Sale Rep, who previously indicated I should focus all my calls to him while they iron this out. The Sale rep said that he had the Service Manager in his office and that they would look at it in a day or 2 and they would give call me with an update by the end of the week. The Sale Rep also stated I should work with a specific Service Writer. Never heard from anyone and began calling again.

This week I finally was able to talk with the Service Writer, who confirmed the frame had a twist that was also called a bend in his view but could not confirm if they took the underbelly off for review of broken welds or other. They needed to send more documentation to the Forest River rep and he was planning to come look. Again more promises to call weekly.

Today, I had the worst customer service day. Called mid morning and talked with the Service Writer who stated the Tech assigned with the case was not doing a good of staying on top of this and he was going to talk with the GM and call me back in 15 mins.

Never got a call so at 2:00 PM, transferred to service, someone picked up and transferred me to a sales v-mail and then the system hung up. Called right back, was transferred to the Service Coordinator who connected with me with the same Service Writer who said he had been slammed but not too busy to provide me service. He had talked to the GM and that he should provide me with as much info as I wanted. That the sent more info to the regional FR rep and that they should be there soon to look at it. I told him that I had consulted with a lawyer and referred to a Lemon law specialist (TT covered in Texas by Lemon law). I stated that they must have a final repair date committed by noon Monday or will be forced to begin the process.

NILM to the FR rep listed on the corp site.

I am lost in thinking about the dilemma. In who can help with the situation and what to do about it. Any thoughts? Just want to enjoy a good safe product. What are your limits?

Dear wife.

I think your contacting FR directly is the best bet. Though, if you did with your message, hinting at a lawyer changes it from a warranty issue to a legal problem- it's a different department.

When my camper had issues, 2 weeks or so passed and my dealer kept blaming Forest River for wanting a bunch of information. I was annoyed at them-- until I got copied on the email thread. My dealer's emails were horrid- literally, "slide borken, needs returned" (typo and all).

At this point, after being familiar with your other thread, you should have walked away but that isnt an option now. What I would do is try to bypass the dealer and go to FR direct, ask your dealer to CC you on any correspondence and talk to FR yourself. If nothing satisfactory happens then follow up with a lawyer.

My unit has a gas leak, my roof on my slide out is broken, my toilet leaks , my doors are all off set, my outside kitchen door don't stay closed and I now I'm paying for a place to store the unit because the rook leaks , the bathroom fan is only in place by the wires ( missing all the bolts).
I paid over $30,000 for something I can't use and Forest River Rv inc won't honor their warranty. This are some of the issues after being in the repair shop for 6 months. The authorized repair shop called me a few months ago and told me to pick up the travel trailer because Forest River Rv inc isn't going to fix anything else. Nice! This is my first unit and I'm a 100 % combat disabled Veteran and I'm paying for this unit and was able to use it once. Forest River Rv inc corporate people don't care about their customers. I feel sorry for their employees.
Good luck and God bless
