Satellite dish grounding

We have just received a directv satellite dish for our rv. It stands on a tripod. Does anyone know how you ground it when you take it on trips? It is a full dish not one of those in a bubble.

GROUND IT?

like electrical grounding?

certainly not necessary...

if it is on a tripod you will want to stake it down well... if it catches the wind it will fall over...

I also have a DirecTV dish that I have used now for about 5 years, on a tripod.

Grounding not needed. All electrical signals including the voltage required to power the LNB at the dish is provided by the cable attached to the receiver.

antennas don't need a ground, it's just sending a signal back to your receiver

Get a good surge protector for the receivers.
