Scissor jack replacement

I have a forest river greywolf 29bh. I tore up one of the scissor jacks. The mounting base to the frame, the part that's welded to the frame, is fine so just need the scissor assembly. I can't find the brand of the jack. It's only marked with model j-5000 on it. Does anybody know what brand they are? Can the be replaced with a bal brand jack? Don't want tp pay the dealer to replace?

I replaced all of my jacks with the Bal scissor jacks and I installed the "Steady Fast System"

Hi Jleon01,

From my experience, I have not been able to find just the parts of the stabilizers to replace. It appears that the whole thing has to be replaced...but don't quote me on that.

There are a few manufactures out there, but yes, you can replace it with a Bal brand jack, that's probably one of the most popular brands on the market today. Here's their website if it's any help to you - BAL - Innovative Products for the RV Industry

You'll want to be sure that you get the proper length to match the others if you are going to replace only the one that's broke.

I believe your OEM jacks are made by BAL.

Thanks. The Bal jacks fit. I was able to reuse the base that's welded to the frame and use the bal scissor assembly.

Glad you were able to find what you needed. I have a buddy who's camper sits low to the ground, he has replaced 3 so far.
