Sewer Vents and Access hole for Satellite Cable

Just finished replacing the sewer vent with a new venturi vent, no big deal. I also had to replace the piece that looks like a vent but it's really a cover for the access hole for the satellite dish wiring. One thing I noticed is that there is a hole drilled in the roof the "vent" assembly covers, but there is no bug screen to kepp bugs, ants etc from heading into the hole. I filled the hole with some paper towel and then caulked it to keep bugs from heading into the free highway. This will allow me to pull the plug out in the future if and when I decide to add the satellite antenna. Something you may want to consider doing. Pull the sealant out of the screw hole in the cap, pull the cap up being careful. Push some filler material in to the hole and caulk. Reinstall the cap and screw, recaulk the screw.

Hmmm.... I looked at mine several weeks ago and it never occurred to me that the "pathway" was wide open for critters. I'll have to plug that up. Thanks for the tip.
