Slide coming off the wall

Not sure what causes this but back to the dealer I go. My off door side schwinteck slide came in slower yesterday. Click image for larger version

I had similar problems. Try this:

Run your slide all the way back out; keep holding the switch in the OUT position for at least 10 seconds after the slide is all the way out.

Run the slide all the way back in. Again, hold the switch in the IN position for at least 10 seconds after the slide is in.

Always do the following:

Never operate the slide to a part way in or out position (always run it as far as it will go).

Once the slide is in or out, ALWAYS continue to hold the switch for 10 seconds after movement stops.

I got these instructions from Lippert.

Best of luck!

Just to clear any confusion...

That is good advice for those that have Schwintek slides and as mentioned, recommended by the factory

For those that have through the frame slides, that information/procedure is not appropriate.

These slides have a ratcheting gear mechanism that is a clutch. When the slide gets clear in, (or out) after one or two clicks of the clutch you must let go of the switch. Holding these types of slide switches for 10 seconds would be disastrous.

Many units have BOTH types of slides so the procedures for each slide may be different.

X2! On a Lippert In-Frame Slide, holding the switch for 10 seconds after it reaches the stops is not good for the clutch, gear packs or the motor!

I was specifically responding to the OP who stated that he has a Schwintek slide.

Thanks, it's good to know that.
Assuming is never good.

Granted. We have a lot of new unsuspecting RV'ers on the forum that may see "Lippert" in your post, or they don't know the difference between slide mechanisms and try the 10 second switch hold. Next thing you know there's a post where they tried that, and now their slide doesn't work.

Just sayin'.

You threw your timing off somehow. Often caused by not opening or closing the Schwinteck Slide all the way and holding it for a few seconds when finished or if something gets caught during retraction like an ottoman or the like.

There are lots of videos on correcting this that you could try before a trip to the dealer.

madatme,

Those are NOT Schwintek slides! Do not use the instructions in my earlier post. Schwintek slides are easily identified by linear gear teeth that run along both the upper and lower edges of the outside slide ends (see picture).

Hello,

You need to check inside for something causing the slide not to close fully. The track has come off the wall and needs to be fixed. My dealer is through bolting my double schwintek slides in fall to prevent this detachment, PM.. Flush bolt heads on the outside and nylock nuts on the inside.

I have a SOB Landmark Louisville

There is nothing in the way. We have never used the little tables that go in the reclining loveseat. I have an appointment for the dealer to look at it Tuesday because we are camping dinghy now. I silicones the gap and then extended the slide when we got to camp. Hopefully they have a way of reattaching the trim. The camper was new last week.

After trying the above things it was still the same. Heard back from the dealer today. They are going to have to pull the slide off and replace the floor. They said that the bottom Schwintek slide rail had no sealant behind it from the factory and they think that is where water entered and has caused the plywood floor in the slide to swell and cause this issue.
