I forgot about the bars once and started to put the slide-out out, luckily no damage occurred. I decided to put a small warning sign over the switch to remove the rods to prevent this form happening again. After the slide is out I simply remove the sign and replace it when I put the bars back in. I really dislike these rods, but I guess there is always a slim chance of the room moving. Funny though, I didn't even get bars on my Cherokee and never had an issue.
