Slide wire guides

Have a Wildcat Maxx F313RE, both wire guides on the 2 main slides are broken. I went ahead and ordered two new guides, but I'm guessing they will break also. I've seen that some use hinges to repair them at the break points. Any other good ideas or fixes for this poor design?

I am on my second slide wire guide/support and it broke also. I repaired it with a 2" hinge and it is working great. I have a 2014 Heritage Glen 282 RK.
