Small horizontal crack on rooftop of Rockwood Freedom 1950 PUP

After prepping our PUP to get ready for another camping trip, I noticed a 1-inch crack on the outside horizontal of our PUP roof. It looks as is something fell out of a tree and struck the PUP roof - that must have been one heavy pine cone! I can't tell if the crack is actually a severe, sharp dent or if goes all the way through to the stryfoam. I'm sooo glad I caught it now before it rained.

Has anyone had this before, and perhaps can give me any suggestions on what caulking to use to seal this crack? Just a FYI: Our PUP roof is a very thin layer of metal (not sure what other Forest River models do for roof material). Thanks! Jeff

Update: it's just a sharp dent with a bit of new rust. Any ideas on how to seal it?
