what is the most effective way to remove pet smell (previous owner) from inside our trailer (carpet)? We have shampoo'd and it helped, but you can still smell it!!

More than likely it has seeped into the wood under the carpet. There is no way to remove that. In houses with this problem the carpet is removed and an industrial sealer is painted down on the sub flooring to lock in the smells.

Mist everything with FeBreeze, then shut it up and walked away. Worked for a car I bought one time. No I don't work for them, and have no affiliation, but they do have a product that works. Worth a try.

You can get the smell out of the carpet by cleaning or by masking it with Febreeze but a car has a metal sub floor. Unfortunately I don't think Febreeze is the answer here because once the offending matter (trying to be gentle here) gets soaked into the plywood there is nothing you can do to get it out. Febreeze would only be a temporary solution but the smells will return.

That said I love Febreeze in my Jeep, use it quite often when I don't have time to pull all the carpets out and clean everything after a season of wheelin' in the dust and mud with the top off.

Yes, You may want to try using a Product called Nature's Miracle or maybe try using oxyclean and water dilution. Natures Miracle can be purchased at a pet store. It has natural enzymes that work on breaking the oder down.

I agree with the Natures miracle "3 in 1 Odor Destroyer...this worked for me not just in my home but my 5th wheel trailer....Completely took odor out. Just follow the directions.
You will love it.

vinegar helps to dilute pet odors, and does not leave a residual cover up smell

and see if your local rv place will let you rent their ozonator for the weekend
it creates ozone and makes the coach smell like a metallic taste/smell for a few days
but it remove 99% of the odors,
they are pricey to buy....

Regardless, I think you best bet would be to pull up the carpet and shampoo scrub it in the driveway. and then treat and seal the subfloor. Also wipe ALL surfaces with a vinager/ water solution. It will get rid of any residual smell. Good luck.
