Smell coming from A/C

My A/C in the front bedroom has a faint smell, could be sewer, when it's first turned on. Although this bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom, the smell is not coming from that area. Anyone experienced this or have a suggestion as to what is causing it. I clean the filter regularly. Thanks

We just came back from a camping trip. Got hot during the night so I turned on the AC. We also clean the filter regularly. What a smell came out. It smelled like a 2nd. ave. wino had puked his insides out. It eventually faded, with all windows open but once in a while we would get a whiff of this pukey smell. The next day I went up and took the cover off the AC unit to see if some animal had got in there somehow and died. All looked good. I then noticed the vent cap for the sewer drain had been rotated off the pipe. I just twisted it back over the pipe and the smell has not come back. I remember getting into a roadside stop earlier in the day and got really close to some poplar branches that brushed the top of the trailer which must have pulled the cap off.

I would not think the cap would do much to stop the odor from getting into the ac unit, but it does.

Not sure what that looks like but I will definitely get up there and take a look.
