Smoke Detector

When it is cold in my 5ver the Smoke Detector goes off and doesn't stop. It happens here at home when it is in the Pole Barn and this past weekend while camping we had dropped off the 5ver and went away for the day to visit nearby family. When we got back to the campgroiund the next morning a guy comes up and says "Your Smoke Detector was on all night". Does this happen to anyone else?

Since no one else has chimed in, I would suggest replacing the battery first. If that doesn't help I would just replace it with a new detector. I prefer the photoelectric type myself.

It is the battery for sure.

As the temperature drops the available voltage drops with it until the alarm sounds.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think it was the battery when I did the test thing it worked fine but it wasn't below 40 degrees either . I will change out the battery.
