Split underneath Rockwood 8280ws

Hello,
We recently purchased a new fifth wheel and the third time out we noticed tape hanging from the bottom of the trailer. When we looked underneath, there is a 3 to 4 foot split that was only closed up by tape. Is this normal? We are taking it back to the dealer to look as soon as we have time. We are very new to this and would appreciate any info.
Thanks

Pictures?

I've been under our 2010 8280WS many times and have not seen any tape. The underbelly panels are overlapped with a metal strip with screws.

BTW, welcome to the forum.

Dave

I had a tt and the dealer done something similar to mine. I had a leak took it back to the dealer and they fixed it. What I found later was a 3 to 4 ft long slit in the bottom covered with tape. They put the slit in the bottom to gain access to somthing on your TT. I used a couple of door installation shims used them as a backer and put a couple of short screws with washers in them. Then I put silicone over the slit and then covered the slit with duct tape. Didn't have much of a problem with the slit after that.

I have used Gorilla tape with success but you need to clean bottom real well there is also Hurricane tape which is real close to what the factory uses.
