Stained Awning

Just bought a used 2016 Wildcat. The awning has been rolled up damp and dirty. Any suggestions on cleaning. Tried dish washing liquid. Helped some. The stain is on the under side which is white. Looks like it came through from the top side

Spray with X14, let soak for 10 mins, spray again, roll up for 30 mins, unroll and wash with simple green and 1/4 cup of bleach in regular car wash bucket with telescoping pole like you use to wash RV with. Rinse really good. Try to keep sides of RV wet so wash solution does not remove wax.

I'll give it a try. Thank you!

Second the Harleyhop method except I use exterior house wash from Lowes a little more gentle on the outside of your unit and also contains butyl rubber helps with black streaks. I use this mixture to wash roof also.

I have issues with water getting between the "rolls" of the awning when it is rolled up. I clean it up really nice, then next think I know it has mildew streaks from both ends where water ran between the rolls during a rain shower. I really can't seem to get the awning to roll up any tighter than it does. I guess if I did not have it level I would only get the issue at one end of the other.

Anyone ever had this issue?

It’s completely normal to have moisture get into the rolled up awning. Can’t do anything about it .

What ratios do you use?

Mean Green mold and mildew remover. Spray down the awning with water. Spray on the Mean Green, I sprayed the entire underside of the awning. Roll the awning up and leave for 20-30 minutes. Open awning up and completely rinse off with water. We found the Mean Green at Dollar General.

I used a bleach component spray and a soft car wash head on a long wand. The stuff drips off and bleaches my clothes evertime, so watch out!

Stained Awning

Has anyone ever tried this option to keep water out of the awning?

You want a mildew remover. Bleach works just fine. Spray it down with bleach then hose it off. If its really bad, you might need to scrub.

A member here did a great review of Mold Armor which prompted me to give it a try. This stuff works wonders without scrubbing. You can buy it at Home Depot.

I gave my awning a good cleaning and it seems to have a hard time rolling up.
Like the motor is going out or just struggling to roll it up. Seems like before it rolled up with a little more speed. I checked for a lube point, doesn't seem to be one.
Any ideas?
Thanks, RMc
