Steps falling off

Looks like we'll be taking the steps off of our Rockwood 8493RKSS to have them welded. On the left side of the picture is the tear in the steel. Anyone ever have this happen? And if so, did you weld, or go with new steps?

All welded up by a co-worker, painted and re-installed. We're good to go, and it cost us $4 for the paint. Gotta love fixes like that!

Good deal. Hard to tell where exactly the tear is from the pictures. Going to beef up the angle that holds the platform to the frame. A lot of flex there in the thin angle iron.

Never fixed one for myself,but have welded up a couple for other people.

Yeah, pictures are pretty bad. I thought the steps were crooked. Turns out I was right. I hope the other side holds. Just another reason to use those step supports every time we go out. I think they take the stress of that bracket. Glad we found it when we did.

Step supports are a Very Needed Mod for Lots of reasons! Youroo!!

Agreed! We have installed two of the self storing braces. They work great!
