strange problem - amber outside light
We have a Cherokee 28BH TT and am having a strange issue. the amber outside light CANNOT be turned off for some reason!!!........the dual switch panel inside the camper works the interior lights fine, and WAS turning the exterior(amber) light on and off just fine. i pulled the interior panel covering the back of the switches and actually pulled the wires off the switch for the exterior light but it stayed on. I pulled fuses and tripped all breakers and the light stayed on.............ended up pulling the bulb. any thoughts or know how to get a wiring schematic of our camper????? thanks a ton in advance!!

your outside light should have its own separate switch. never seen it tied into other lights.

Don't shoot me.....Just asking....
Does the light fixture itself have a small rocker switch on it? Are you sure?
I had one once that had a rocker toggle on it. Took me a year to notice it.
If the switch was in A position, the light stayed on regardless. If the switch was in B position, it was controllable by an inside switch.
Sounds kind of like what you are experiencing.
Anyhow, good luck.

Maybe kinda sorta like this?
The switch might be on top. Mine was on the side. That was almost 20 years ago.... jeesh where has the time gone...??

Whoa Red Rider...
You say the light stays on even with the wires off the switch?
The switch in my camper to the outside light breaks the hot wire not the ground. Perhaps in YOUR camper it breaks the ground and not the hot wire. If so, your light has found another path to the frame. Could be a pinched wire.
If your light breaks "hot" then you must have taken apart the wrong switch.

My trailer (2012 cherokee Grey wolf 28bh) has a remote that can operate the outside light. I had a similar problem one night and found I had turned the light on with the remote, which overrides the switch. Doesn't sound the same since you shut off power, but that is a 12v light, so would be on a fuse

Mmmm since I did not see a model year I assumed it was like my 2010.
I do not have a remote that controls lighting; just the wall switch.
So, you are saying the remote circuitry (if you have it) overrides and provides 12 VDC to the light regardless of switch position on the wall...
That would explain a lot.
