Television trouble

I bought my 2009 Rockwood 8313ss in June 2008. It came equipped with a small tv's in the rear and bedroom, and a 22" in the main area. My very first time out, the small tv in the rear just quit working. I swapped it with the one in the bedroom. About an hour later it came back on and had worked ever since, until our last outing. Once again, it just quit while my wife was watching it.

The tv brand name is Legend. I got out the warranty paperwork and found it was only covered for one year, which was no surprise. I tried to contact the company listed on the paperwork, but I found that the phone number was disconnected and the web site is no longer being hosted. The dealer has fielded several inquiries like mine, but so far has not additional contact info. Does anyone out there have any contact info for this company?

I found the company, but I can not paste their web address on my message to you. The company is in Australia. I will try and provide you their web address if I can find out how to do it.

I wouldn't waste my time if it were me. Those no-name component manufacturers come and go all the time. Even if you did find them I don't know that it is worth it to try and get it fixed. Head to Wally World or Costco and find a name brand replacement. In the long run you will be much happier with it.

Jeeper,

No question you are right. Even if I found a repair spot, fixing it would no doubt cost more than buying new. For me, "it's the principle" of the thing. Probably a waste of time.

It wouldn't hurt to take it to a repair shop to get an estimate(if they give free estimates) of how much it would cost to repair and then go from there. If very expensive, then look to buy new.

Forgot to ask-- are these LCD's or tube tv's?? If LCD's see above post- If tube type, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go directly to store and purchase LCD's.

I wanted to give an update on this. They are indeed LCD tv's, so I took it to a repair shop. They charged me $25.00 to tell me there was nothing wrong. I put it back in the trailer, and it didn't work. Abouty 12 hours into the camping trip, I noticed the standby light was on, and it was working. Later the same day, it quit again, and stayed off for the duration of the weekend. We went out again this past weekend, and when we set up no standby light. In the middle of the first night, during a lightning storm, it came back on and stayed on for the duration. Clearly there is a wire or switch in there that is loose or faulty. We have decided to live with it.
