The Shower Door Just Fell Off!

My shower door fell off my 2015 FR Ultra Lite! Nobody was around and the dog denies everything. The door was held on by two small machine screws in the soft aluminum you see in the photo - 1 at the top 1 at the bottom...probably jiggled around once too often and the socket bend away from the screw. Trailer engineering at its best

I kind of like the door; so does DW. Helps to muffle the singing that annoys the dog. I know I could just add a curtain, but any thoughts about fixing this? I could drill out the aluminum and braze in a new piece, but why reinvent what somebody out there has already done? Last option would be to take it to a shower dealer who knows what they are doing. But, where's the adventure in that?

I listen and learn here all the time. Thanks for the forum and the regulars. I'm even starting to laugh at the jokes more. I'm getting old.

Same thing happened to our shower door. I called the company and they sent me a much longer screw to reinstall it with. So far it is working.

Thanks Banda

Thank you so much for offering the idea of a longer screw. I gave it a try, but the channel was too damaged. I contacted Forest River, hoping to purchase new shower framing for the door. They referred me to the dealer, who looked confused and referred me to Home Depot.

I solved the problem by cutting two pieces of 1/4"aluminum u-channel 1"long, gluing that to the glass door and drilling a new receiver hole into that. Then I screwed two new stainless steel sheet metal screws through the hinge into the
new holes. Problem solved.

Good traveling, Banda!

Glad you solved your problem but if you get a similar one, try using JB weld (miracle stuff!) and then re-drilling the hole
