The "wiggly" "wobbly" fold down table.....

Has anyone come to a happy solution on this aggravating thing? I googled it and most all posts I found here or otherwise were all from around 2013 or older. Our trailer is a 2015 and apparently 5 years of complaining wasn't enough to make FR come to a good solution. I see the 2016 version of our trailer went back to the 2 leg style and ditched the folding base. With a baby on the way we want to fix the spillmaster 5000. Trailer is at the dealer now, will see what they come up with, just looking to see here if FR was able to make anyone happy with this in recent history?

I do not. It is the same base as the table depicted in this 2015 Rockwood brochure pdf.

The wobble is coming from the pivot points on the legs. Not much I can see to do and still have it fold.

Ours wiggles at the bottom hinge point, otherwise it's fairly solid. We have the U-shaped dinette so we can't secure it to the wall as some members have done.

I've seen several posts here with potential solutions. Try searching "wobbly table".

I recall a thread about a table that would shake like crazy.

Owners fix was something like this.

My table faces the other direction, but adding a 3rd leg solved my wobbly table issue. It's very stable now.

Ours is also a u dinette and oriented like yours. I'm hoping FR will admit fault and switch it out to 2 legs like yours was. If I'm still not happy I can add the 3rd leg. Or I can just get them to do 3 legs from the start. The 16 they have on the lot is 2 legs again, the folding mechanism is gone. FR has been good so far with dealing with issues, so we will see. Appointment is Wednesday, hope to know more by then.

Dave961, what brand legs are those? I've only seen the tapered drop in ones before..........those look like they twist and lock, which I can see adding the 3rd would really help.

For those saying search I have, but was looking more for anyone that got a resolve from FR. Most posts I found were attempts and fixes by owners themselves.

Good, bad or indifferent the owners fix is generally better than the factories.

I do agree with that. Because they're the people that have to live with it. Just trying see if anyone had FR make an attempt, other than swapping the base for another one that wasn't any better.

From what I've found it looks like 3 fixed legs are the way to go. I just want to be educated so when they call me with a "plan" I can counter an educated demand.

Dave961, are those legs Sequoia? Looks like they are from the design and what I can see of the sticker now. Right now my demand looks like it's going to be 3 Sequoia legs and the folding base goes in the scrap dumpster. The folding base isn't important to me.

Ours was also wobbly as hell. First I took short, pointed wood skewers and inserted them around the base of the poles & broke them off. Worked to a degree but still wasn't happy so, since we will never use the area as a bed, I attached an L bracket to the underside of the table and attached it to the wall which did the trick.

My Windjammer 3001w has the dinette on the slide out. How much room is there under the floor for the screws to protrude before interfering with the slide out if I use this mounting option? This is my wife's biggest complaint with the camper, the wiggly table.

For the slide I would use something like a Tee nut if the slide comes out far enough to access the underside.



You can use a good SS screw and some Loctite if the screw is to long just cut it off flush.

The bottom like what you see from underneath outside.

I would measure from the wall to the table mount inside then transfer to the outside to make sure where the mount is located and that it does clear the floor enough to screw it down.

IF it is doable without issue I would then cover the Tee nuts with EternaBond tape.

After reading all the various wobbly table posts on the forums I despaired of fixing our shaky table and took a low tech approach. We don't use the dinette for sleeping space so we swapped the table out. I found a nice 36" square folding table - like a card table. Decoupaged the top with old maps and postcards. It sticks out a little further into the kitchen area than the original but there's still plenty of walking around room. I love having a little more room for countertop overflow when I'm cooking. We fold it up and lay it on the bed when we are traveling. So far we are just thrilled with it.

I have an XLR 27HFS. I ordered a factory leg matching what was there. Took out an upper and lower screw, bought matching at hardware store. Put it on in about 15 minutes. I can't take credit, I read it on another post 2 years ago.

Hi All. I have a problem, my rear lights (tail lights) and perimeter lights will not come on. I have 2016 Sunseeker 2401S only 7000 miles. Brake lights, turn signals and back up lights work as they should. I am lost for finding a wiring diagram for this model and the MBS sprinter manual only gives very simple map of the fuses and relays. Any body out there who might of had this type of problem, I would really be thankful for your input. Yes all the bulbs are good.
