What was the culprit – not completely retracted before removing the battery?

I'm guessing so, I'll keep an eye on it to see if it falls our a little over time. From the time we bought it last summer we used it really steady and it was being cycled in and out alot so I didn't notice. It's really easy to tell when it's there so I can't imagine not doing that but time will tell.

Update: It's been a little less than a month since I checked the slide and it's starting to hang out a little on the bottom. What would cause it to do this? The hydraulic cylinder leting it settle?
