Tires Good and Bad

After owning my camper for 7 months, and towing around 500 miles, I had a blowout at 62 mph. No damage to the trailer, just some lost time while changing a tire on the side of the highway. The tire was a Mission TC-108 that came on the trailer, a 2009 Work and Play LT18, weighing about 6500 pounds at the time. While shopping for a replacement, the confusion began, and so did the search for a decent tire. Brand after brand would show up in a search as having blowouts. I'm sure some is operator, but not all. Looking for tires became almost as bad as reading about concertone problems. I finally settled on GoodRide, and changed to a load range "D", just for peace of mind.
Basically I went with a reputable tire dealer, and I know they'll stand behind what they sell. Can't find much on the internet about them, except made in China like most trailer tires. Anybody else been running them a while? Maybe we could get a poll for tires, good and bad. What are your experiences? This is a great place to gain info, and maybe some tire info would be useful. Average life of a trailer tire, 3 ~ 5 years. If they're older, get rid of them, regardless of mileage, at least that's what I read somewhere. Gonna be several on here needing tires. By the way, my RV dealer doesn't do tires. Can't even change one. Thanks

I have seen and I belive 20/20 did a story on tires not to long ago that it is suggested that tires be replaced after 7 years regardless of wear. On our last motorhome we had a blow out on one of the duals, thank god it was the outer one and I had a spare. However I live by this and replace my tires by the 6 year mark no matter what they look like. Having blowouts on an RV besides just being dangerous can also do tremendous damage to the surrounding plumbing (sewer drains, tanks, wiring, etc.) It's not worth it to me to keep running on old tires.

I came across a couple one time with a class C motorhome that had lost their outside dual and it took out their sewer slice valves and damaged the black tank, what a mess! Neither one of us had the special tool it took to get his decorative hub cap off so I suggested he back track to the last town about 5 miles back up the road. I followed in my rig and we were lucky to find a farm supply store that had a well equipped shop that was willing to lend us tools so that we could put his spare tire on.
