Toilet Flush Valve Won't Close All The Way

The valve won't close all the way. There used to always be a little water that would keep after flushing. Now it does not stay. It seems the closer won't close all the way. I have to push down on the flusher and release quickly in order for it to "snap" into place. Then of course it closes all the way. Does this need lubrication or adjusting?

How old is your rig? If new my first guess would be lubrication check your manual if you have one, if not I will look for mine. Has it been standing dry for some time?

what do you have for a toilet? I have one of them porcelain ones and it sometimes drips a bit after but if it is more then normal i just hammer the pedal a couple times and it smartens up.

Mine did the same thing. After trying to clean under the seal (with the supplied "tool"), I had to replace the seal. Not a hard job, really-just a couple of bolts to split it in half. You then replace the round teflon seal and gasket and re-assemble. It took about 15 minutes. I found the procedure on the net.

Jerry, welcome to the forums.
It would help us if you gave a little information.
What year is your RV and what brand is your toilet??
