Towel / Toilet Rack Install... suggestions?

I have a metal towel rack and toilet paper holder that were not installed in my bathroom but the parts were included with the TT. It is a 2011 Rockwood MiniLite with aluminum frame studs.

I am hesitant to drill holes into the walls... can anyone advise as to the best way to do this? I am afraid of not hitting the studs, having holes and it eventually working loose if not tight and solid.

I have the same problem. I was thinking about trying those Command Strips they have to hang pictures and other thing. Not sure how they would stick though on the back of the TP holder.

I think that Rockwood purposly don't install the towel bar as well as toilet paper holder, as they have no idea where to put them. We have a 2012 2109s Mini-Lite and we put the towel bar on the wall behind the toilet. I sounded for the studs, as best I could, and placed the mounting plate and screws as tight to the left-hand corner as well as right adjacent to the shower enclosure. I may have been lucky, but the screws contacted something solid. As for the toilet paper holder, there is no good spot to install it. Does'nt matter where you'd install it, it would always be in the way. (Rockwood should have mounted a flush mount holder in one of the walls.) I just attached a small piece of dowel to a square piece of wood and it works just fine. That way you can move it anywhere your heart desires.

Come to think of it I don't even think my trailer came with a towel holder just the TP holder.

Mine didn't com with either. But we figured we let the towels air dry out side and for the paper we went to wallie world and bought one of those free standing ones and just set it there, most of the time in the shower area for ease of use and out of the way.

We bought a cheap plastic tp holder(took up less space) and mounted with 3m strips, be sure to clean wall with alcohol first, its been up for a year no problems. we have used 3m strips for multiple uses in trailer and they work great!

Ironically, I encountered this same situation today. I went to Lowes and bought a free standing tp holder. Sits on a solid round base with a long rod with tp holder at the top. Sits about 18"-24" vertically. Spent about $20 on it, but works well and can be moved. I put it across from toilet out of the way.

No big deal just screw them to the walls where you want them, don't drill holes screws are self taping, then just keep kids from doing chin ups on them. My have held for years doing just this.

You can also try the over the door itself type of racks. This is what we did and it works great.One caveat however,our's is metal and we left it on the door during one trip and it did cause some scratching due to movement back and forth. Ours come with 3 bars and with enough spacing were the towels seem to dry as well as they do at home.Hope this helps.

I installed a towel rack on bath wall behind the toilet. There are no studs so I used 4 hollow-core door style anchors...plenty strong enough for 3 bath towels.

My towel rack was installed, however my TP rack was not. I installed it on the inside of the wash basin door. Open the door and there it is, close the door and its not available for my dog to unroll and play with! And I can reach it while seated

Why not use a stud finder?

Use short expanding Molly bolts, they are easy to install, cheap, and hold well in the thin paneling, no need to drill into the studs if one is not available.
