I would like to mount a tv in the swivel tv box in my wildwood. Will it support an adjustable mount, or does it have to be fixed. No mirror on the back of the box. Will the back come off?
I think a swivel would be fine. I would just make sure that you can secure it while moving. I got away from these TV boxes and now use a tv lift. I've found that I don't worry the TV crashing down anymore. It might be worth looking at!
We mounted a 23" TV on a swivel arm in the rotating box in our Wildwood. Ours had a mirror and it did come off from the back side by removing 4 screws thus allowing you access to the area where the arm attaching hardware (nuts/washers) go, therefore I would assume the back of the box without a mirror would do the same.. The mounting surface wall of the box which is actually inside the box (not true back wall) is 1/2 plywood and is plenty strong.. just be sure to use large fender washers to spread the load when attaching the arm and secure the TV in the stowed position when towing or problems could occur.. In mine I placed small eye screws in the back of the box just behind both sides of the TV and cross the tv with a flat bungee cord when moving.
