the owners manual on this tv reads like instructions for the space shuttle. i just want to watch tv
Kappel,
Actually the TV was plugged into the output jack of the sound system instead of the input to the AU2 plug. I just changed them and all is well.
The outer ring will snap off and then you remove the 4 screws and you will then see a mess of wires.

Just trace the TV audio cable to the sound system. Oh all the input and output wires are marked with tags. At least mine was.
Good luck.

thanks for the info iggy. i may wait and see what the dealer does. i don't want to mess something up and then it is not covered under warranty. but just out of curiousity, you say the outer ring. by this, do you mean the out square framing of the stereo? ya got my interest peaked now. lol thanks again. Kap

Yes the outer plastic frame pops off. I used a butter knife and started working from one are until it snapped off.

If you decide to do it and remove the system from the wall don't get all upset to see a very uneven hole in the wall. Mine looks like the guy was drunk and with a dull hand saw.

We are NOT talking about TV output cable which may be AV Out.
We are talking input name to the sound system.
I wasn't trying to argue about what the quick guide says to do. What I was trying to do was to state how the one in my 8315bss actually functions. The way mine is wired there is no audio input to the concertone when the AU2 function is selected, and that was a possible solution to the problem. Going by the way that Izzy's trailer was miswired, and the way that mine is wired, it is obvious that the assembly folks at Forest River just connect 'em up however they feel like it on any given day lol.

They said it must be wired wrong. But on the other hand, my dealers service manager says they are full of it, and the tv shouldn't run thru the ceiling speakers. who is right? i am hoping it is forest river, as you can't hear the tv cranked up on high, when the ac is running. thanks for any input.
My dealer was clueless about the AV system too. The audio output from the TV should run to the Conertone as discussed below.

Rather than use a knife, with mine, I just firmly gripped the sides of the trim and it popped right off.

You should have a bunch of gray and black wires coming out of the bottom/back of the unit with RCA jacks on them.

Iggy,
What jacks are you using on the back of your TV? I have two sets of audio jacks. I have tried both and have also tried changing the cables on the zx700 but still do not get any audio out of the overhead speakers. Currently the audio cables coming from the TV are connected to AV2 on the zx700. My TV is a Toshiba.

i do have a bunch of gray and black wires coming out of the bottom of the unit. but they look like they go into a snap in box, not jack ends, but i didnt look real hard. these are small wires. not the size of the two jacks that come out of the back of the tv. my tv is a toshiba also

I wish I could come by and help

You have 2 sets of audio out of your TV? You should have one audio output from the TV not two. But I'm not there, sorry.

I think you may have mistaken the wires and they could be game audio Input or the Game video input.

Bottom line you need to verify all the wires one by one.
If you don't know how you should contact someone that is familiar with audio and video setup.
