Tv issues

We just purchased a new 2010 rockwood 8315. The tv plays fine thru the ceiling speakers with a dvd in, but not just the tv. In the laminated quick guide, it even says to put the stereo unit on functions, and go to AU2 for the tv to play thru speakers. i even called forest river, and they walked me thru the steps and it didn't work. They said it must be wired wrong. But on the other hand, my dealers service manager says they are full of it, and the tv shouldn't run thru the ceiling speakers. who is right? i am hoping it is forest river, as you can't hear the tv cranked up on high, when the ac is running. thanks for any input.

I'm guessing you have a concertone. These units are notorious for malfunctions. The speakers should work with the TV. It could be wired wrong, if not call FR back and get them to okay a replacement through your dealer. This is the "fix" they have on these units. They will continue replacing them until your warranty runs out. Most people buy a different brand and replace them theirselves. You can search this forum for what kind they bought and "how to" instructions.

I have the same tt as you and I have had mine replaced twice. Once in Feb this year and it's being replaced again now.

Maybe someone who has done this will post on here and explain it all to you.

Good luck.

Ours only works in surround sound if there is a DVD in the player as the player is the unit that ouputs the sound to the speakers. Unless there is a cable from the TV sound output back to the player input the TV won't play through the surround sound speakers. However ours is a stand alone player, not one of the built in systems that they seem to like to use in the trailers. The units they have used in the trailers (usually Concertone) have been notoriously crappy and not worth troubleshooting.

The Venturer TV in my TT is now garbage. It has is losing pixels by the hundreds each time I go out to the site. I carry an LCD TV in my car heat/cold bouncing and moving it for three years and have others also being treated the same way by employees. Do not have a problem, but VENTURER LCD's are not worth the money I paid. Junk!!

On our 2010 8315BSS, in order to feed the TV audio through the ceiling speakers we must switch the Concertone unit to the AV2 inputs -- not the "AU2" input. Also make sure that all the speakers that you are trying to listen to are actually turned "on". Hope this helps.

TV does run thru the speakers system and yes it must be on AU2. I had to take my the system out and change 2 wires because mine did the same thing. They just plugged the TV output into the speaker system wrong.

I re-iterate, just for the sake of clarity - On our new 8315bss, the input selection on the stereo unit must be "AV2" and not "AU2", to feed the TV audio to the stereo input. This makes sense as the "V" seems to indicate audio from a video source. I believe that the "AU2" input would select the XM source as an input, however I cannot check that out as I don't have an XM radio subscription. It certainly won't hurt anything to select "AV2" and see what happens !!

NO I stated correctly. On my quick sheet it states for TV Sound
1. Turn on TV
2. Set function to AU2 for TV sound

We are NOT talking about TV output cable which may be AV Out.
We are talking input name to the sound system.

thanks for the info guys, and i am betting you are both right. depends on how yours was rigged up. my quick guide also states AU2. i tried both it and AV2, with forest river on the phone. when next the camper goes into dealers to finish punch list, i better hear the right answer from the service manager, or sh/t will hit the fan

the owners manual on this tv reads like instructions for the space shuttle. i just want to watch tv
