update 2019: which brand of sewer hose preferred

I am relatively new to the RV scene and have only had my (used) 5th wheel out 6 times this year. I am wanting to replace my sewer dump hose, but am looking for the brand that holds up the best. There is a thread from 2012 that is maxxed out and I know that there are probably newer and better products since that time.
I would appreciate hearing what other seasoned RV'ers are using. Thanks in advance.

I put a Camco RhinoEXTREME 20ft RV Sewer Hose Kit into service in June.

I've used the RhinoFLEX with excellent results for the last 3 years.

Rhinoflex swivel. The extreme would not collapse small enough for me. Took up too much room.

I have used the RhinoFLEX for the last 3 years. I have not had any issues. I love the fact that it comes assembled and greased where necessary with all the fittings attached.

I dont like that it wont fit in my bumper or a 4x4 post but I am getting a 5x5 post and gutter to mount it in...always something to do.

I read in another post the RhinoFLEX wouldn't fit in a standard 4"x4" R/V bumper yet mine fits just fine as long as I align the tabs on the fittings with the corners of the bumper.

I wonder what has changed?Click image for larger version

Valterra viper hose. 20í kit plus an additional 10í section.

These are more expensive. Appear tougher and more convenient.

Store everything in a plastic box. Easy.

Waste Master Sewer System

Bought this Waste Master setup a year ago when a friend said the flimsy factory 2" grey and 3" black outlets was not as good as a 3" for the Grey "woosh" when it drains...and 3" black, plus the cam locks dont leak, the hose is always attached to the elbow. I also supported it with a heavy duty aluminum strapping from Home Depot, at the T.

It was alot of work to convert everything, but it is so nice IMO. I called the owner /inventor, in Hollister, California, and he assembled and sold me all the precut sized parts I needed to retrofit all the fittings and T from the tanks. He sent me all the parts, and all I had to do is glue the ADS pipe to fit.

I think others sell it too, since I see it on Amazon etc now. but fyi his number is 831-636-9775.

The system is also called: Lippert 359724 Waste Master 20’ Extended RV Sewer Hose Management System; I also ordered the grey water plug: Male Cam Lock Garden Hose Adapter; and the storage box: Nozzle Enclosure for WM-1; and door; then I just bought a 5" or 6" white irrigation plastic rigid pipe, and cap, and welded a homemade aluminum box with brackets to screw under my frame. Painted it all black. Also got a Oatey 33402 Mechanical Test Plug, 3 In, 5 Psi Back, Plastic, 110 Deg F, 3-Inch, Red.

Heres his website:

Rhino Flex with a clear fitting. Been using the same one for 5 years now. Not so much as a pin hole in it. Easy to clean, Easy to store and love that it stays where I bend it. As good a value for my money as anything I've bought for the RV and it gets better every additional year I get to continue using it.

I use the same, fits in the bumper and keep the fittings in my pass through. Have a 20' and 10' section in the bumper, had it for my last trailer too, probably about 5 years old, works fine.

I don't think anything has changed. I use a 15' & 10' Rhinoflex. I store one on one side of the 4x4 bumper, and the other on the opposite side. All you have to do is index the tabs to the corners and it slides right in.

Rhino Flex with clear fitting at both ends. Been using the same one’s for 11 years now. Have never regretted it.

Thanks. I will double check again but from what I recall it was not even close.

I been using Rhinoflex and some camco revolution. neither fit in my forester MBS sewer storage hole. One of these bent (and how had a little flat spot) when I stepped on it last trip.

I'm another Rhino flex user and am pleased with it.

A couple notes:

If you spend a lot of time in one place, like a seasonal camper might, the hose will be exposed to sunlight more than others that merely go camping a weekend or two a month with the hose stored in the bumper the rest of the time. A hose that sits any length of time in the sun will age quicker, not lasting as long as the "part time" hoses.

Regardless of what brand one gets they all end up crappy

My vote for most durable:

When on FHU sites, I use a home cobbled Valtera Sewer Solution setup. I bought as separate parts, the pump and end parts, but no hose. Note that SS parts connect with a 3/4" hose. I stopped at my favorite big box store and bought a "Farm & Ranch" garden hose. Chopped it up to fit my needs, I carry about 45' of dump hose! I'm confident that kids on bikes or foot, birds, weed whackers, long periods in the sun, etc will have no effect on it. About the only thing that will hurt it is a power lawn mower...

I also have a moderately priced standard hose for use at dump stations. Both sets of hoses are stored in 5" fence post sleeves that I mounted under my trailer.

Wastemaster does it for me

My Forester came with a Wastemaster system and it works very well for me. I couldn't imagine using a bayonet mount hose. Best thing is the hose fits in the waste compartment when not in use.
