Warranty repair experience
Just to sum up. We purchased our FR 201BHXL in March 2016. On delivery we noticed the wall behind the murphy bed bowed out and buckled at the seem. Forest River was notified and they said to take to preferred dealer of choice after summer to get repaired. Took to dealer on November 17th. Picked it back up on December 17th. It was iced over so I did not see issue with the repair until today. To clear up we bought it from a RV&Boat show and never went to a dealer to purchase. The dealer was a small mom and pop place that did not have the facilities to repair and pretty far away. They were going to send it back to Indiana for repair which would have taken it away from our summer use. After summer I contacted FR to see if there was any closer preferred dealers and they told me about one that was about 30 minutes from me. Not going to name names because this is the mistake of the tech and not the dealer. They took responsibility and are going to fix it. I am concerned it won't be as good as the factory and I may have a hard time selling. We planned on selling it to upgrade this summer to a larger one.
First picture was on delivery.
Second picture was in October and it was worse.
Third picture is how the dealer repaired it.
Last 2 are well you can see.

If it's any consolation... it looks good from the inside!
Sorry, I hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction.

I am hoping they offer close to what we owe on a trade in. I will purchase a new larger unit from them if they will. I really feel sick about this. I am civil and they appreciate that. We have used this TT for 3 weekends this summer. Planned on more but my daughter broke her arm the first weekend we used it playing softball. Been a nitemare.

Looks to me like the person who did it used screws that were too long. Not only have the screws perforated the outer skin, eveywhere there is a screw coming through... water will get under the Filon skin and cause it to delaminate.
I've seen some 'cabbage' jobs before but that one is about tops in stupidity.
I find it amazing that a dealer....any dealer that has the gall to present that as repaired should be reported to not only the manufacturer, but the BBB and possibly legal recourse.
It does look food on the inside...The outside is another issue....

Oh my.....I have my Toy Hauler in for maintenance/warranty work. Its been over 3 weeks since I took it in. I called yesterday to get a status report. No answer, left message no call back. I've been calling them every week to check on the progress. I took a road trip to see them face-to-face and looked like nothing was done besides moving the unit closer to the maintenance bay :-( Based on the experience to date and your example....I'm very nervous about the end results. Best of luck on dealing with your dealer and closure.

The dealer offered to buy my 2017 back for $4500 less than I owe. I was going to purchase a 2016 Keystone 27DBS from them. From the time I left and they called me that unit sold. They told me I could get a 2017 Keystone Hideout 272LHS for $2000 more. I told them I can not take that much of a loss on my 2017 model and hope the repair turns out perfect. I can't afford to lose $4500 for 1 summer. I am going to contact FR to see if my warranty for leaks will be extended beyond March 24th 2017 for the front end being replaced in case it leaks or something. Do these thing lose that much value that quickly that $4500 is lost in 8 months?

Anything less than an all expenses paid trip to the factory for a new front cap or for them to buy it for what you owe would be unacceptable.
They ruined your new trailer, end of story.
Contact a lawyer if they do not agree to option one or two.

It all depends on what you paid for it vs what the new one is selling for. You should have gotten 35% off the list when you bought it and should get 35% off the list price on the new one. Not unusual to lose another 20% the first year. I always laugh when i hear someone tell me the dealer gave them what they paid for their trade when they bought a new one.2 years later...Ha-ha..that's telling me they paid too much for the new one...

I am waiting to hear back from someone named Miranda Blackburn at FR. I emailed her pictures and she was who I talked to originally. I will drive it to Indiana to get factory repaired if I can. I will be satisfied then. I would also accept a -$2000 loss on it if the dealer would agree and roll that $2000 to a new camper and buy it from them. I have a feeling its going to get ugly. I have emailed the dealer and told them to not make any repairs until I hear back from FR first.

Do not accept ANY repair less than a full front cap replacement.

Full cap meaning the panel that is damaged replaced or the entire front piece including the bottom rock guard, They are saying they are only replacing the panel that is damaged with new, with new graphics and I will never know it was repaired. Bottom rock guard piece doesn't get replaced.
Also is NADA used to price travel trailers? I looked mine up. This is a 2016 model and mine is a 2017 so I assume mine would not be lower than the 2016. They offered me $10 trade in.
Retail/ Low/ Average
Base Price $18,313 $11,200 $13,500
with options mine has
TOTAL PRICE: $18,313 $15,500 $18,665

Full cap meaning the entire part where the damage occurred.
If the lower rock guard is OK and they can successfully separate it from the upper cap, no need for it to be replaced.
NADA prices and what you can actually get from a dealer are often far apart.

You are a lot nicer than I am. I would have made 2 calls, one to the dealer who did that horrible repair job telling them they would be hearing from my attorney, which would be my second call.
I have zero patience with stupidity and the older I get, the less I have.

Kind of stuck now. FR says they can't repair a mistake done by a dealer and that I need to have the dealer repair the damage. Dealer won't budge on offering more for a trade in and I am not taking a huge loss financially on my unit. Its 8 months old. If anyone knows some higher ups at Colerain RV in Ohio please send me some info. All I can seem to talk to is the service manager in Delaware. I am kind of surprised that they ruin my TT, and I offer to buy a new larger more expensive unit off their lot and they won't work with me more. If you look at out 201BHXL you will see it was in showroom condition. It was towed around 500 miles total and used 3 weekends tops.

Long story short, it should go back to Factory for repair like They offered at the start! But now the Dealer should Pay because of the Damage they did! Youroo! !

Warranty repair experience
I feel your pain!!! But fail to see how FR is at fault for the screws sticking thru the outside??
I would make sure I kept all my documentation. And I would either keep that covered or cover each screw with some silicon. Look like to me water will get in there easy!!
Don't see that Dealer is obligated to any trade deal. But Dealer is for sure obligated to fix the cap. And I bet they will.
