Water in Belly

A friend purchased a new Wildwood 195 and found water inside the plastic covering underneath the trailer. From what I've heard, this is near the area of the refrigerator. Any ideas on where it might have come from?

It could be from any number of places. Anything from a plumbing issue, "blow in" from a gap in the underbelly, tank condensation... I wouldn't even hazard to guess. It might be a good idea to drop the whole underbelly, inspect for additional signs of water, check every nook and cranny inside the rig itself and see what you can see.

Thanks for the quick reply. They had the trailer back to the dealer who tested all the systems for leaks. Maybe they just didn't look underneath.

It very well may not be a plumbing issue at all. Something like that is 'really' difficult to track down unless you can find something somewhat suspect to follow up on.

I certainly wouldn't ignore it, but it might just be condensation. It's very difficult keeping an underbelly completely water free. If there is concern it certainly wouldn't hurt anything to drill a couple of small weep holes through the underbelly in the low spot and let it drain.

Most likely they just ran the water tests and checked for leaks on what they could see. They could have pressure tested it.

Like Yarome said, it could be any number of things.

I had a similar issue on mine and it ended up being two problems. One, was the grey water tank had a leak at the top and when it was near full it would overflow into the underbelly. I also found alot of loose lines on the FW tank.

I would pull the entire underbelly too and look around for any signs of water elsewhere. Remember, water will always find the lowest spot so it could be 10ft away from where the major water is.

Since it is a "new to you" rig, while you've got it dropped, it's an excellent opportunity as well to get any air spaces sealed, inspect wiring and the like that might identify any other pending issues.

We had some water in ours from time to time... We looked every where to no "smoking gun"... Finally this year we narrowed it down to fresh water and only when we filled the tank to the top... Dropped the skin, and found the clamp on the water tank was a little loose and the source of our issues.. Tightened it and it hasn't leaked since... That fitting is about 18" away from the fridge..

We presently have a similar problem with water dripping from under belly when the tanks are all most full. Hoping to get this corrected at the Goshen rally as this was turned in on the form they sent to us. Later RJD
