water leak

After FR advised me to check the bolts that hold the AC in place I find that I have 4 yellow spacers between the AC unit & the roof of the TT. My question is does any one know if these are supposed to be removed before tightening the AC down? If you look closely you can see them in the picture attachments.

I know exactly what they are. My AC leaked my first rainstorm just like yours did. The "Woody" from Cheers who installed my Coleman Mach II 15,000 BTU Air Conditioner did not know what those yellow tabs were either. That lack of knowledge (and reading the install manual) resulted in my first warranty claim. They had to replace the gasket between the roof and the air conditioner base.
Those yellow tabs are "torque tabs". The installer is supposed to:
1) make sure all four tabs are inside the gasket and not trapped on top of it (automatic leaker).
2) Tighten the through bolts EVENLY until the yellow tabs just contact the roof. Then stop. That will correctly compress the gasket material to water proof seal the unit to the roof.

The problem is once water finds its way past that gasket; it is nearly impossible to reseal the gasket properly since dirt will have been carried under the gasket. Water will then "find a way" in.

Your tabs look "unevenly" torqued in the photo allowing water to creep through. Once that happens (and it can take a while) it makes a "well worn path" and will leak until fixed. Replacing the gasket may be your only option.

Thanks Herk7769: we have a trailer like emptypockets and I will keep this in my mind if we experience the same issue with our minilite 1809s 2011.

"Woody" also caulked the plastic air handler cover to my ceiling (that butt head). The dealer had to very careful cut around the trim piece to even get the cover off. That caulk also masked my problem for months because the water was trapped in the trim during short rains and only wound up on my floor during a massive downpour that lasted all day. I went out afterwards to check for leaks and I am SO glad I did. Who knows how long it would have taken to find the problem (and how much hidden damage I would have found).
