Water Pump issue / loose connection

My Flagstaff 21DS is only a few months old, I took it on it's 4 trip this weekend and the water pump stopped working. The switch is working fine, I used a volt meter to verify the pump was getting the proper voltage which it was. I hit the pump housing with the the end of a screwdriver and it started working again. It would work for a little while then would stop working. I would have to tap the pump a dozen times during the day to keep it working.

My obvious guess is there is a loose connection somewhere in the pump which I plan to take apart and get a better look at it but wanted to post here first to see if anybody could offer additional advice for me here since I have never taken one of these apart before.

The pump I have is WFCO (PDSI-130-1240E) Artis series 3.0 GPM 40 PSI

The pump has a built in pressure sensor. When the pressure sensor senses the pumps cut-out pressure, which you stated is 40 PSI, then the pump stops running. With the switch "ON" the pump will sense a "cut-in" pressure, when the pressure within the system lowers, and the pump will start up again. I sounds as IF there may be a problem with the "cut-in/cut-out" switch and when you bump the pump housing you sort of wake the switch up and it starts running again. It could be a bad electrical connection internally within the pump also. Being as you have never taken one of these apart I would recommend that when you do remove the pump have a place you can sit down to take the pump apart, have something like an old towel to lay the pump on, there will be a little bit of water in the pump. Take the pump apart, lay the parts out so that you can reverse the way they are laid out and inspect the internals of the pump. You may find some loose electrical connection, and maybe some sediment within the internals of the pump. Which brings to mind--do you use a filter between the fresh water tank and pump?

I use an external filter when filling the trailer as well as the internal one that came with the trailer.

When did WFCO start making water pumps?

They don't. The pump is manufactured by Artis Products.

I had a similar issue about three months back when I drained the fresh water tank and flushed it out, then refilled with fresh water.

I lightly knocked on it with a rubber mallet and it would work for a few seconds...then quit!

As I was momentarily heading west out of Albuquerque I decided to wait until I got to Flagstaff, AZ to figure it out.

Once there, I turned the pump on and opened a faucet...

And Whaa Laa...it has worked ever since!

I think it just got air in it and vapor-locked!

I think my issue may be a bit different since the pump will work for a short period and during this period I am opening faucets and running the water through.

Another dumb question.... do you have water in your fresh water tank?

Our water pump cuts off ( acts deader than a doornail ) when there isn't sufficient water in the fresh water tank.

Yes, tank was full. When the pump would run I had water flowing
