What is the stuff Im thinking of

I know vague right.. I took the cover off of our TT this past weekend and in one spot the cover stuck to the roof, It was on a seam and the white caulking type stuff pulled off, kind of like bubble gum.

It didnt leave a open hole in the roof seam, but I do want to buy some more of this stuff and cover what was taken off. Can someone help me make sure I buy the correct stuff, what is the correct caulking called? Thanks

Now I've got to throw a curve ball in. Searching for the sealant I ran across Eternabond Tape

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...KIKX0DER&psc=1

The seam appears to have a aluminum type clip/hold down and then the white roof material. Its located right on the front curve of my TT. So which one would be better to use? The Dicor or Eternabond?

http://www.eternabond.com

Eternabond definitely. Many others, myself included, apply Eternabond over all the seams and anywhere there is dicor as preventive measure. Just apply it right over the dicor. It's warranted for 10 years when applied as directed.

Some don't wait a year to apply it. Some even apply it so it covers the fasteners along the sides. Just fold it over the trim and avoid covering the gutter.

AFAIK everyone who have used it is very happy with the results.

One thing to keep in mind is once it touches any surface it's hard to remove.

Leads to another question

That leads to another question. Our 2007 Cherokee has a slideout with two flat skylights. Each appears to be a 20" x 20" piece of 3/16" polycarbonate taped on all four sides to the EPDM slideout top. There might be two layers of polycarbonate, can't be sure.

The polycarbonate has yellowed and crazed and cracked, and the Eternabond is cracking in a few spots. I want to remove the old polycarbonate and Eternabond and replace it. What is the best way to remove it? Can I heat it slightly with the heat gun without damaging the EPDM?

And don't forget... those with Alpha TPO roofs should use Alpha brand sealants.
We've seen reports of Dicor bubbling the TPO material and there have been past discussions on this with photos of the bubbling.

BTW... the Super Flex sealant sold by Camping World is rebranded Alpha 1021 specifically for sale at CW. This was verified by Alpha in an email to me.

Another question

I've got a leak around the chimney flashing on my brick house. Can I use Eternabond to seal that leak? Has anyone used it on a brick and morter house?

Not on brick or mortar

If you mean sealing across seams of the galvanized steel, sure.

I don't believe it would adhere well to brick or to mortar. The surfaces are porous and non-uniform (not smooth), so there wouldn't be 100% contact. And mortar isn't good under tension--the sandy surface would pull away with the tape.

I have used heat to soften and have been able to remove, but it is a pain. Just be careful with the heat as to not melt anything that shouldn't be.
