What is this designed for?

The opened area in the back wall and behind the couch slide out.
What is that designed for as far as storage? It's such an odd size. (this isn't our unit, just an example)

I keep an big umbrella and a fold-up camping chair back there. Our SV 263s might be the only model with this area. I think this little cabinet is necessary since the outside of the SV 263s taper back towards the camper just below the shelf.
