Why is furnace coming on for no reason?
I've been working inside our Catalina TT for the past couple of weeks doing some upgrades and mods. On some days, the furnace fan turns on for a few minutes and then shuts off. I have a permanent electric heater installed and the propane is shut off. The furnace (Suburban) t'stat is turned to the lowest setting possible, but it is warm inside the trailer. This doesn't seem to happen every day and only seems to happen once during a day while I'm there.
Any ideas on why this is occuring? Am I missing something? It has been very cold out lately, minus 10 deg. C (14 F). Would it be something to do with the low temp?
Thanks.

Do you want the furnace to turn on? Why don't you have it set to "off" seeing how the propane is turned off. I would think that it is trying to start and cannot because of the lack of propane... ???
happy camping,

When you slide the thermostat all the way to the left, on manual model thermostats, you are correct, the furnace is at it's lowest setting, but not in the off position. Push it left a little harder, and you will fell it click in to the off position.

Okay, got it. I wasn't pushing the lever hard enough towards the off position.
I guess since the t'stat is only a few feet from the door and since it's been so cold out, if I wasn't closing the door quickly enough, the thermostat was getting a blast of cold air and turning the furnace on.
Too easy.....
Thanks for the help!
