Wildwood lodge rear AC keeps shutting down

Can anyone give any advice we have a 2017 Wildwood Lodge with the upstairs.

The first camping season we used it the rear air conditioner would only run for a few hours then shut down in the middle of the night it would run OK but during the heat of the day it would only run a couple hours and then shut itself down .

dealer brought it back last fall and pulled the ceiling down and found that two of the lines leading to the Vents the duck work was crushed so they assume they found the problem that it was possibly not moving enough air causing it to freeze up and shut down

We are having our first heat wave of the year and that unit is doing the exact same thing but it is moving much more air it will only run for a couple hours then shuts itself down if I let it rest for 20 minutes or half an hour it will run again they have replaced the circuitboard‘s they have replaced thermostat and replaced all the duck work I’m beginning to wonder if it is a bad unit or possibly bad thermostat location I am open to any ideas thank you very much

Are the evaporator coils freezing up causing it to shut down?

Which A/C and thermostat do you have?

I'm als curious how they replaced all the duct work? Did they pull the ceiling down to do it?

sounds like the evaporator coils are freezing up, then when they thaw it starts up again...not much you can do about it other than monitor it yourself, cut it off manually periodically, and see if it then runs more 'continuously' with your periodic intervention.

If it has a ceiling dump, open it and run it and see if it still shuts down after a couple hours.

If the unit is low on refrigerant that will also freeze up the coils. Unfortunately, most of those units do not have service ports to allow checking and adding refrigerants.

Originally yes it was freezing up that’s how they found the crushed duct work. The removed the ceiling above master bedroom and found crushed tubing in vent above bed and the second vent in hallway had enough tubing extra to reach the front of the camper . It is now moving a ton of air .

I have not climbed up there yet to see if it is freezing up.

I have the three button domestic T-stat 3316350.00

Both front and rear T-star are mounted side by side in hallway .

Sorry I forgot. I believe it is 13,500 low profile. Someone drew a line through the model number on the build sheet.Click image for larger version

I'd check and see if it's freezing up and if it is, and it's flowing plenty of air, then I'd say that it's probably low on refrigerant.

I am planning on bringing a ladder with me this weekend when we go back and climb up there and take the cover off to see what’s going on unfortunately those units don’t come with a Ladder .

The weird thing is it’s doing exactly what it was last year with the crushed duck work so i must say I would agree with the dealer that I would’ve thought replacing the ductwork would’ve cured the problem
