Winterizing sucks!
No real good info in this post just wanted to complain to someone that I spent 10 hours winterizing our new Wildcat 5th wheel. I forgot how much work 34' of RV is!
Now let me first admit I am OCD so I did everything. Washed and waxed, roof cleaned, inside cleaned, fixed all the wear and tear from the year of traveling, greased everything, lubed slides and seals and flushed all the tanks. We are in WI so I blew all the lines and filled it full of the pink juice.
Up and down a 12' ladder all day and I can barely move. My rant is over hope everyone else has a good rest of the season.

What is winterizing? When it gets as low as "Yankee Cool" here on the SE NC it is time to travel farther south. Bad habits like 'eating' mean we have to work until we retire. When your time comes, move south. When the temps get into the low 40s here I start singing a song heard over and over in Nam to my wife, "we gotta get outta this place..".

LoL...unfortunately we have some time before retiring and 2 kids that I guess we have to finish raising? Wife and I already agree when the time comes we will hit the road and go wherever we want until we can't anymore!

Being from Wisconsin I feel your pain. Washed our exterior and roof a couple weeks ago. This weekend we're emptying the inside, blowing out the lines and pushing the pink stuff in. The slides go in and we're done until April 15th .

Our winterization took about 6 hours. 10 minutes to blow the water out of the lines with compressed air and then rest of time was spend taking an afternoon nap in the camper.
Roof gets cleaned in the Spring. I've never waxed an RV before and don't intend to start in this lifetime. I do most of my repairs after each trip if it can't be fixed during a trip. I can relate about going up and down a ladder. I was so sore after installing solar on my RV.

I winterized once when I went out to turn on the AC fan and electric fireplace to put some heat in the trailer for a cold night. That was one brisk night!

What sucks worse is having to do it again when you never "de-winterized" it this season.

Everything the OP did except the plumbing is stuff that should be done at least annually anyway. The big "pro" of winterizing is all the time and money saved by not using the RV!

I have an uncle who sold his RV for health reasons and is now confined to a wheel chair in a Nursing Home....he would love to be able to winterize his rig this year! Puts it all in perspective!!

I usually spend about 30 minutes winterizing. Drain, blow, flush, done.

From Wisconsin too and agree that winterizing sucks. Takes wife and I all of a day to wash, clean, vacuum, store, pack, lube, put in slides, bedding, electric. Lots of work and if you wait too long, you get to deal with cold and rain while closing the beast up. Because we have a seasonal site, we need to insure the grass is cut, mouse stuff in shed and camper, plants covered, lawn chairs and hoses are drained and put away. On top of all that, this is the last day of the year for camping. It does suck, spring is so far away for us.

Didn't expect this to take off but keep the good perspectives coming. Funny a buddy of mine read my post and offered me $100 to wash and wax his rig. Didn't take me long to say ........NOPE!

I was told at the walk through to put some deodorizer in the black tank, after each use. Well I got to thinking the other day you can't leave the water solution in the tank during the winter. What do you do???

Lol. Yup, it does suck. Always makes me feel kinda like the last person at a big party, or last one to leave the office at night. I hate winterizing at the end of a great season!

I thought that as well and did just that in 2003. Best thing I ever did.
